Saving floor space

I have always been a proponent of negative space in design. No matter what type of designer you are, graphic, web or interiors, it is important to remember that not every square inch of paper, not every pixel or square foot of space must be always meticulously designed. Sometime, it is best to step back and give the design some breathing room, give an eye a rest, and a mind a second to recoup. What’s between the lines matters just as much.

Fantasy. Fashion. W Hotel

Who would have thought that a hotel design concept can inspire a cutour collection. Truth be told, both fashion and hospitality design have one major competent in common. It is creating fantasy, emotional connection to the design that people never knew they needed, but once they are exposed to it, they instantly fall in love.

New office for Size 43, LLC

When Brian Artka decided to full-time dive into his web design and development business, he first worked out of a home office. Although it fit the need at first, Brian’s practice grew exponentially and he soon realized the importance of having an external office; a space where client meetings can take place, work collaboration can occur,  and more area for storage is available. read more

My husband Brian Artka has leased an office space and is moving out of his home office. Hurraahhh! I’m happy for him, and I strongly believe this move will bring great things for Size 43, LLC, his web development business. A great wife that I am, I have promised to assist with interior design of his new space to maximize square footage and implement his already established brand.

Vacation on a beach

Travel is the best way to get inspiration. For work or pleasure, I always discover new designs and interesting architectural elements. This month, my husband and I ventured out to the south end of Florida, to unwind and get familiar with a new to us area. We picked Miami for two reasons: first of all, two of our favorite television shows (“Dexter” and “Burn notice”) are filmed in Miami. read more
