“Welcoming fall” craft project
Even though calendar summer is still in effect until September 21st, we tend to welcome the change of seasons much sooner. Bright-flowered mums get added to our landscapes. Front door decor is switched from bright summer floral to toned-down shades of autumn. Being a naturalist, recycler and handy-woman I am, this year I made a new front door decor piece. And you are welcome to do the same.

Saving floor space
I have always been a proponent of negative space in design. No matter what type of designer you are, graphic, web or interiors, it is important to remember that not every square inch of paper, not every pixel or square foot of space must be always meticulously designed. Sometime, it is best to step back and give the design some breathing room, give an eye a rest, and a mind a second to recoup. What’s between the lines matters just as much.

2011 Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse
Not the first time, I am involved in an event, which borrows the talent of Wisconsin interior designers to create inspiring and showcase-worthy environments as part of fundraising efforts. Having designed a space in a Christmas Fantasy House, the fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, in 2009, getting involved in the 2011 Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse was a natural next step. read more
