I felt like painting
It’s been over four years since we have moved in to our house. Few things have changed inside since then, but due to small size rooms, we pretty much kept the layouts the way they were on day one. What better way to update the decor of a space, if not through art and accessories. With this piece, we have retired a phenomenal photograph of The Calatrava, Milwaukee Art Museum, taken by Brian (@bartka) back in 2003, which used to occupy a prime location in our living room. Vacation on a beach
Travel is the best way to get inspiration. For work or pleasure, I always discover new designs and interesting architectural elements. This month, my husband and I ventured out to the south end of Florida, to unwind and get familiar with a new to us area. We picked Miami for two reasons: first of all, two of our favorite television shows (“Dexter” and “Burn notice”) are filmed in Miami. read more
Where do I go from here

I also noticed the new marketing and PR campaign of the Milwaukee Public Library. Click HERE to learn more about the “Get Your Geek On” campaign. I felt inspired by their efforts to revitalize the dusty image of a very much needed but underfunded community institution. And as much as Aga Artka Interior Design’s image is still pretty new and fresh, I feel that it needs a new and more defined direction and a PR message. read more
Celebrating 1 Year Anniversary
January 21st, 2010 marks one year of existence for my interior design practice and my Name Day. Where did the time go. It feels like yesterday that I was learning how to crawl in the business sector, and today, I am standing tall and moving ahead stronger than ever. read more
Becoming Loose, Part II
The reason I took the workshop
I’ve always enjoyed the arts. I used to take a sketch pad and a box of pastels on family vacations and spend afternoons drawing my surroundings. I never really understood how to draw correctly, but through observation, I was able to recreate the reality of paper. read more
Becoming Loose, Part I
Wondering why some people can draw better than others? Besides the obvious reason, a natural incline or talent, the best graphic artists and illustrators put in their dues and work hard to reach the top. Luckily for those, who are not as gifted (like me) but who want to learn and are committed to becoming better at drawing, there is hope. read more
