I’ve always enjoyed the arts. I used to take a sketch pad and a box of pastels on family vacations and spend afternoons drawing my surroundings. I never really understood how to draw correctly, but through observation, I was able to recreate the reality of paper. (more…)
Wondering why some people can draw better than others? Besides the obvious reason, a natural incline or talent, the best graphic artists and illustrators put in their dues and work hard to reach the top. Luckily for those, who are not as gifted (like me) but who want to learn and are committed to becoming better at drawing, there is hope. (more…)
Thanks to some wonderful members of TheWisconsin Women Council of Realtors, I was invited to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Christmas Fantasy House this year. I was thrilled to take this opportunity to decorate a room which would not only meet the home owner’s satisfaction but also give the public a lot of fresh ideas on holiday design and decor.

In today’s hectic world, the leisure and the entertainment industry are still going strong. Especially overseas, a lot of new hotel projects are being completed, just breaking grounds or are in the planning phase. It looks as though the population of hard-working and always connected professionals is driving the “relax in style” trend. Guests are looking for not just any style, but luxury, uniqueness and unforgettable experience.
No matter what industry you are in, if you know your profession well, you will agree that the customers who require the product/service to be delivered with top quality, quickly and inexpensively, are asking for impossible. The triangle of quality, price and time always leaves one out.
I have recently been asked to design a window display for a SNEAK PREVIEW of a Fine Furnishings Show during Gallery Night & Day event in downtown Milwaukee.
I have done merchandising for a local home accent store in the past, but designing a catchy window display is a bit of a different story. Calling upon my interior design, merchandising, and visual presentation experience, I have taken the challenge and completed the display.
Saturday was a great day for a road trip. In celebration of the beginning of the calendar summer, my husband and I hit the road to Custer, WI, where The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) hosts an annual Energy Fair. It took us a little over 2h to get there, but the drive was enjoyable and we were both excited to explore the grounds. (more…)

If you are in your twenties and moving into a new apartment, this episode of The Sunday Show, Milwaukee’s biweekly podcast about nothing in particular, is for you! I was invited on the show to speak to some of the challenges apartment dwellers face when they search for a place, move their belongings in, and start to personalize the space to make it their own. If any of this sounds familiar, be sure to watch Episode #5 of The Sunday Show.
I am very passionate about what I do. I’m sure you have noticed. One of the ways I stay on top is by attending various industry conferences and shows. I not only satisfy my constant need of travel and discovery, but also learn something new about design, products and trends. Yesterday, I attended Coverings Tile+Stone Expo in Chicago, IL and I have to tell you, I was amazed by some beautiful local and international collections of tile, mosaic and natural stone I found. Most importantly, I had a chance to participate in a Color Trends & Forecasting Seminar lead by Pantone color forecaster, writer and color specialist, Leatrice Eiseman.
