In the era of Amazon.com and Kindle, I may be one of the few, who still signs books out from a localĀ library. I enjoy having access to a large database of books, and I really like the convenience of putting favorite titles on hold and having them shipped to my neighborhood location for pick up. I also noticed the new marketing and PR campaign of the Milwaukee Public Library. Click HERE to learn more about the “Get Your Geek On” campaign. I felt inspired by their efforts to revitalize the dusty image of a very much needed but underfunded community institution. And as much as Aga Artka Interior Design’s image is still pretty new and fresh, I feel that it needs a new and more defined direction and a PR message. (more…)

Wondering why some people can draw better than others? Besides the obvious reason, a natural incline or talent, the best graphic artists and illustrators put in their dues and work hard to reach the top. Luckily for those, who are not as gifted (like me) but who want to learn and are committed to becoming better at drawing, there is hope. (more…)

What a great book! I can not stop raving about it. It took me a few months to get to this book, and now that I did, I am glad I found the time. A Whole New Mind is a great analysis of the changing world, conditions and new economical climate ahead. If you represent the creative community via occupation, hobby or interest, or to the contrary, never believed in the value or the power that creatives had to offer, be sure to read this fabulous, audacious and extraordinarily powerful book. Recommended by my husband, I am reading this book by Seth Godin “Tribes”
on leadership; what it means to be a true leader, to attract people to you, to grow your audience and remain true to your passion; what is the difference between a leader and a manager, a tribe and a crowd and other interesting phenomena. The book made such an impact on me that I want to share some of the main points with you. Does that make me a follower or a leader? – both, I suppose. I follow Seth for his open-mindedness, unique approach to life and ability to see what most people don’t notice. But I hope to lead some of you interested in my point of view. It’s not about who gets the credit (says Seth), but whether the idea spreads around and reaches more and more people. The exposure is what matters. (more…)
